Bairnsdale Rowing Club competed at the 2025 Masters State Rowing Championships last weekend, taking on the one kilometre course at Lake Nagambie.
Nine rowers represented the club across men’s, women’s and mixed events, including single sculls, double sculls, pairs, coxed and coxless quads, and the eight.
The club secured two medals during the competition, with Belinda Pownall winning a silver medal in the Female Masters C Coxless Quad, rowing with the Powerhouse Rowing Club.
Pownall combined with another member, Jo Campbell (also rowing with Powerhouse Rowing Club) earning a bronze medal in the Female Masters D Coxless Quad.
The championships saw strong competition from club’s across the state, with athletes pushing themselves in tough racing conditions.
Bairnsdale Rowing Club put in a solid performance and will now look ahead to the Masters National Championships being held in Sydney from May 29.
