Gippsland Grammar students joined with more than two million students across the country on Wednesday, May 21, to take part in National Simultaneous Storytime.
Held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) for the past 25 years, National Simultaneous Storytime nominates a different picture book each year written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, that is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, kindergartens and bookshops around
the country.
This year’s book was The Truck Cat by Deborah Frenkel and illustrated by Danny Snell, and students from foundation to year two gathered at the Bairnsdale Campus library at noon to listen to the livestream of author Deborah Frenkel simultaneously read the story to children all over Australia.
