Lindenow broke through for its first win of the season in round seven of East Gippsland netball at the Lindenow Recreation Reserve.
The Cats and Seagulls went into the clash evenly matched with a solitary win between them for the season and it was Lindenow who had all the answers in four hard-played quarters.
Challenged several times in the first half, the Cats gave coach Yvonne Porter the last laugh and a well-deserved victory over her former side, Lindenow, 50-34 victors.
Brooke Perrett, Ashleigh Forehan and Ashlee Smith were standouts for the improving Cats, while Makayla Grabham and Poppy Carroll led the way for the Seagulls.
Wy Yung was too slick for Paynesville at Bullumwaal Road, winning by 66 goals, maintaining its hold on second place on the table by percentage.
Stevie Alvin, Kate Eigner and Michaela Ward were hardly challenged in the victory, with Paige Stickland-Cohen, Darcie Garth and Abbey Wyatt trying hard for the Gulls.
Reigning premier Orbost Snowy Rovers took the match right up to Boisdale Briagolong at home at Lochiel Park, discovering some of the form that made it so great in the last month of 2024, but the Bombers, who had all the answers in final stanza, hung on for a 56-52 win.
