Mayor Cr John White with Bunnings Bairnsdale's Tony Nasrallah, Kellie Puddy and Sharon Caulfield who fed the masses with a free sausage sizzle.

Last Wednesday, East Gippsland Shire Council in partnership with the Skills and Jobs Centre- TAFE Gippsland and Workforce Australia held the East Gippsland Jobs Expo was held at Cremin Hall, Bairnsdale.

The event welcomed a record number of attendees through the doors and was an opportunity for local job seekers, underemployed or career changers to see what options are available close to home and what potential pathways can be followed locally.

Mayor Cr John White officially opened the event; and the brand-new Gippsland Jobs Hub – an online portal to showcase real jobs for real people in the region and chief executive officer Fiona Weigall was also present throughout the day.

Grace Thierry and Charis Ormesher were happy to wander around the expo with their collection of showbags.
Andrea MacNamara of Skills and Jobs Centre- TAFE Gippsland launched the Gippsland Jobs Hub at the event with partner of the program, East Gippsland Shire Council’s Business Concierge, Royce Edwards.
Year 12 students at Lakes Entrance Secondary College, Aivah Neilson and Brianna Tilack with David Mosele of TAFE Gippsland.
Kasia Bourke, Justine Hardy, Emily McAlpine and Nakita Dyer were on duty at the East Gippsland Shire Council booth.
