Local artist Bohdi Taylor has been a creative force in the community since 2023, teaching art workshops and facilitating popular Paint and Sip events.
This term, her home studio, ArtLand, was buzzing with activity as she mentored two dedicated students on their exhibition pieces for Bruthen Arts and Events Council’s Mixed
Bag 25 Exhibition.
Sharni Ashford was recognised with the Junior Encouragement Award for her beautiful, untitled flower painting.
Penny Martin took home First Prize in the under-15 age group for her impressive painting, Rex.
“I’m so proud of them both and all that they’ve achieved this term,” Bohdi said.
“I can’t wait to see what they create moving forward. I hope these awards have been a great little confidence boost and confirmation that they are talented and to keep going.”
Looking ahead to term four, Bohdi will be running small group NDIS Community Engagement Art Classes.
These Monday and Wednesday sessions will explore various artistic mediums.
“Art is a precious vehicle to self-discovery, and I love providing the space and the resources for people to explore that part of themselves,” she said.
“There’s no greater reward than witnessing people practice and become better. It’s a journey we take together in a safe, inclusive, and predictable space.”
