Mountain Biking East Gippsland recently hosted round one of the Victorian Downhill Series at Mount Taylor.
Racers of all ages came from far and wide for the event, with registration and practice taking place on the Saturday, with the thrills and spills of racing taking place on Sunday.
Among the winners were Tristan Hall (under 13 boys), Remy Young (under 15 woman), Harper Sealey (under 15 men), Jarrod Walters (veterans men), Joanne Borg (masters women), Travis Cryer (masters men), Kareen Freeman (super masters women), Mike Reefman (super masters men), Ecco McLeod-Kourie (sport men), Dale Lumsden (expert men), Charlotte Montgomery (under 17 women), Ned Webster (under 17 men), Zali Hunter (under 19 women), Reegan Schafter (under 19 men), Amelia Freeman (elite women) and Tom Young (elite men).
The event ran smoothly, with riders and spectators impressed with the standard of the course.
Summer of Shred is almost upon us for another year, with this year’s race dates October 23, November 13 and February 5.
The Christmas break-up will be on December 11 and presentation night will be held on February 19.
