Inclement weather played havoc with a couple of matches late in the day of round 10 of the Bairnsdale Cricket Association last Saturday, but by day’s end the top four sides went clear of the chasers and look likely finalists.
The only match not completed was at Orbost, where play was washed out with Wy Yung looking to chase down a huge Blues total.
The game at Lakes Entrance was delayed for nearly an hour as rain and lightning caused chaos but Lucknow eventually took the points early in the evening.
The top four spots on the ladder have certainly consolidated in recent weeks with only six points separating top of the table Lindenow South Glenaladale and fourth placed Meerlieu, with premiership favourite Orbost and Saturday’s impressive winner West Bairnsdale wedged in between.
Lakes Entrance is now two games away in fifth place, with Wy Yung, Lucknow and the improving St Marys Nagle all looking to be out of it with just four rounds to play.
