Cape Conran and Marlo continue to a show a resurgence in the tourism market post bushfires and COVID-19.
However, popular local beaches such as East Cape and Salmon Rocks remain unmanned by lifeguards.
The area does not have a designated surf lifesaving club, yet beaches are regularly filled with visitors and locals swimming, surfing and bodyboarding throughout the busy summer holiday season.
While no drownings or incidents have been reported at these beaches, numerous other locations along the East Gippsland coast are manned by paid and volunteer lifeguards, including smaller places in terms of population, including Seaspray and Woodside Beach, while both Lakes Entrance and Mallacoota also have a lifeguard presence.
All four towns have surf life saving clubs.
