Residents across the Lindenow district are being invited to help shape the future of their communities, with East Gippsland Shire Council beginning work on a new place-based planning initiative.
The Lindenow District Place Plan is currently in its early development phase, with council compiling a local profile using demographic data, existing strategies and community insights to identify key priorities for the area.
The plan will cover Lindenow and surrounding localities, forming part of a broader council approach to develop district-level plans across East Gippsland.
Council says the Place Plan will act as a practical, action-focused document designed to guide future investment, decision-making and service delivery, while reflecting the needs and aspirations of local communities.
Community engagement is central to the process, with residents, businesses and visitors encouraged to provide feedback through surveys, written submissions and future consultation sessions.
Input gathered will be used to help identify community values, issues and opportunities before being incorporated into a draft plan, which will undergo further consultation before being finalised.
Council has also flagged opportunities for community members to participate in working groups and engagement activities as the project progresses.
Once completed, the Place Plan is expected to serve as a guiding document for both council and the community, helping prioritise projects, support funding applications and align local initiatives with broader strategic planning.
The Lindenow project forms part of council’s 2025–2029 plan, which identifies district place planning as a key focus area for supporting community wellbeing and local decision-making.
Further information and opportunities to provide feedback are available via council’s Your Say engagement platform.
