The Bairnsdale Golf Club dominated the Golf East Gippsland pennant grand final day at Eagle Point last Sunday, winning three of the four premierships on offer.
The result capped a successful season for the host club and highlighted the strength and depth of its growing golf program.

In a thrilling Division One finale, Bairnsdale prevailed 3-2 over Maffra. Darren Churches, Matt Walkenhorst and Craig Rimington were amongst the victors for the winners, with Darren Reynolds and young Cooper Rimington (Craig’s son) taking their matches for Maffra.
A much more clean-cut result came in division two, with Bairnsdale defeating Sale 4.5 to 0.5. Jacob Brewer, Tyler Elliott, Damian Tubb and Les Coles were all winners for Bairnsdale, with the final game halved between Bairnsdale’s Ash Baylis and Sale’s Jeremy Todd.

The host’s trifecta was brought up in Division Three East, where Bairnsdale One overwhelmed Orbost 5-0. Rodney Cotton, Michael Brusamarello, Lachlan McGrath, Marty Fanning and Darren Beggs all won their individual matches.

The final premiership in Division Three West was taken out by Yarram, who won a tight contest over Toongabbie 3-2.
Winners for Yarram were Scott Leggett, John and Dylan Skarratt.
