Another strong turnout for the Bairnsdale parkrun last Saturday morning, with 105 participants taking on the five-kilometre course along the Mitchell River.
It was the 469th staging of the event, with walkers, joggers and runners completing the course for a mix of fitness, fun and camaraderie.
The field included nine first-timers discovering the course, while seven personal bests were recorded across the morning.
Ethan Sanderson led the field home in 18 minutes and 24 seconds, while consistent performer Mikhaila Bromwich (21.06) was the first female across the line.
Personal best efforts were recorded by Lisa McGregor (25.04), Chris Fields (26.37), Kobe Fields (26.45), Jaxson Woods (27.21), Ashlie Woods (28.40), Liz Marran (32.57) and Graeme Adam (37.36).
Running groups represented on the morning included Riviera Triathlon Club, East Gippsland Runners, the Derek Zoolander Centre for Kids Who Can’t Run Good, and Ultra Series WA.
The event was supported by volunteers Catherine Pike, Dave Kinsey, Jacqui Shannon, Kylie Wickham, Lina Jung, Robyn Harcourt, Sage Harris, Sophie Brown and Zara Wickham.
Bairnsdale parkrun starts at 8am each Saturday from the Mitchell River path, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities.
