The top two sides were both comfortable winners in round seven of Omeo District netball.
Reigning premier Omeo Benambra was too slick for bottom side Lindenow South, who were not disgraced at the top of the hill, going down 52–22.
Buchan also proved too strong for fourth-placed Swifts Creek, who were unable to push their case for a top-three spot, ultimately lacking composure down the stretch in a 53–31 defeat.
The top two sides will now meet at Buchan this week, where a clearer picture will emerge of the gap between the Alpine Ranges and the rest of the competition.
Bruthen returns from the bye to host Swifts Creek, with the Creekers needing a win to keep their finals hopes alive and hold off Lindenow South in the race for fourth spot.
A victory for the Bulldogs will keep them in contention for the double chance, while Swifts Creek will be focused on responding as the finals race tightens.
