The rumble of engines echoed across East Gippsland on March 14 as hundreds of trucks, cars, emergency vehicles and community supporters united for the Gippsland Truck Centre 2026 East Gippsland Convoy for the Kids — delivering another unforgettable day of generosity, mateship and hope for local children and families.
Crowds lined the streets from early morning, cheering as the convoy rolled through towns across the region. Families gathered with picnic chairs, children perched on shoulders for a better view, and supporters proudly wore convoy merchandise, creating a sea of colour and excitement.
Organisers described this year’s event as one of the biggest and most successful convoys to date, with strong participation from transport operators, local businesses, volunteer groups and residents from across Gippsland and beyond.
Drivers polished their rigs for weeks beforehand, creating a moving spectacle that delighted spectators along the route. Many travelled long distances to take part, continuing a tradition that has become a highlight on the East Gippsland calendar.
Local businesses also threw their support behind the convoy, donating services in preparation for the event, as well as auction items, fundraising support and more. Volunteers and businesses worked tirelessly behind the scenes to coordinate traffic management, safety operations, entertainment and family activities throughout the day.
A total of $104,054 was raised from the 2026 Convoy for the Kids, with proceeds going to Angel Flight and Camp Quality, providing vital services to children who need it most. It marks the biggest fundraising result for the event to date.
For many attendees, the convoy represented more than a fundraiser — it was a celebration of resilience, the trucking industry and community spirit.
Organisers thanked participants, sponsors, emergency services and volunteers for helping deliver another successful event, with planning already turning towards the next convoy in 2030.
With engines switched off and another convoy complete, attention now turns to building on this year’s success for the next chapter in 2030.
TRUCKING GOOD DINNER
The transport industry’s commitment to community was on display at the East Vic Trucks and Kennedy Trailers 2026 East Gippsland Convoy for the Kids industry dinner, with drivers, volunteers, sponsors and local businesses gathering to celebrate another landmark year for the charity event.
Held following the convoy, the dinner brought together supporters from across Victoria and interstate for an evening recognising the people and organisations behind one of East Gippsland’s most significant community fundraisers.
Guests reflected on the success of the 2026 convoy, which once again drew strong crowds and industry support, raising vital funds for local children, families and community services across the region.
The evening featured speeches from organisers, sponsors and community representatives, all highlighting the scale of effort required to deliver the event.
“This event continues to grow because the industry believes in giving back,” one speaker said.
“The convoy is powered by trucks, but driven by heart.”
“There are hundreds of people involved that the public never sees,” organisers said.
“From traffic control and logistics through to fundraising and setup crews, this event simply would not happen without them.”
The atmosphere throughout the evening was one of pride, gratitude and optimism, with many already discussing plans for the 2030 convoy.
The 2026 East Gippsland Convoy for the Kids industry dinner again reinforced that beyond the trucks, lights and engines lies a strong, united community determined to make a difference.
