The Bairnsdale Junior Basketball Tournament is back — and it promises to be bigger than ever in 2026.
Following the successful return of the event last year, the Bairnsdale Amateur Basketball Association (BABA) has announced that this year’s tournament will expand to include all junior age groups.
The association is gearing up to welcome clubs from across Victoria for a massive weekend of action in East Gippsland from December 4 to 6.
To help maximise court availability across the weekend, a limited number of games will be scheduled on Friday evening for local teams.
The 2026 tournament will feature under 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 age divisions, with all registered teams guaranteed a minimum of three matches before qualifying finals. Pending entry numbers, divisions will also be split into “A” and “B” grades to ensure competitive play.
Fixtures will be spread across major regional venues, including the Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC), Nagle Catholic College, Sale’s Gippsland Regional Sports Complex and Maffra’s Cameron Sporting Complex.
Team registrations officially open on August 28. With team numbers capped across all age groups, local and visiting clubs are encouraged to register early to secure their place in the draw.
