Excitement is building for the 2026 Bairnsdale Show, with organisers rolling out an action-packed lineup of entertainment, lead-up fundraising events and major carnival attractions as preparations hit top gear.
In a huge boost for thrill-seekers, the Bairnsdale Show committee has officially confirmed two major carnival rides for this year’s event, led by the popular high-flying favourite, the Ali Baba.
Adding to the excitement, this year’s show will expand into a premier two-day event, launching with a massive Friday, November 6 evening celebration. Opening night will light up the sky with a spectacular fireworks display, live music and the opening of the show bar for one night only.
Taking to the stage for Friday night’s live music showcase will be local favourites The Holloways, alongside country music star and former The Voice finalist Mick Harrington.
Family fun will continue right through Saturday. November 7, featuring guest appearances from AFL stars, interactive activities, and all the beloved traditional agricultural show competitions and pavilion displays.
To help bring the show to life, a series of community lead-up events have been locked in across July and August:
– Sun Cinema fundraiser (Friday, July 31): Community members can support the show by attending a special fundraising movie night at Bairnsdale’s Sun Cinema.
– Battle of the Bands (Saturday, August 29): Local musicians, singers, and bands will go head-to-head in a live talent showcase, with the winning act securing a coveted main-stage performing slot at the November show.
Organisers are encouraging local performers, families and show enthusiasts to get involved early as momentum builds toward one of East Gippsland’s premier annual community celebrations.
