The Bairnsdale school community is celebrating after OneSchool Global (OSG) received two prestigious international awards recognising its innovative Learning to Learn Framework and positive workplace culture.
The school network’s Learning to Learn Framework, which guides its student-directed learning model, secured a Silver A’ Design Award at the A’ Design Award and Competition — one of the world’s largest and most respected international design events.
Evaluated by an international jury of academics, industry professionals and media representatives, the award recognised OSG’s framework for excellence in educational design and innovation.
Meanwhile, OSG’s commitment to developing and supporting its staff was acknowledged at the global Symbol Awards, where the network won the Sustainable Workplace Culture Program award for fostering a values-driven environment prioritising professional growth, wellbeing, collaboration, and long-term employee engagement.
OSG is one of the world’s largest global school networks, delivering its student-directed learning model to 8000 students across 120 campuses in 20 countries.
Chris O’Reilly, OneSchool Global acting global head of education, said both awards reflect the organisation’s commitment to creating an enriching environment where both students and teachers thrive.
“OneSchool Global was founded on a vision of high-quality education that enables students to learn how to learn and achieve the best possible outcomes,” Mr O’Reilly said.

Brett Maxwell, OSG Bairnsdale campus principal, said the international recognition directly reflects the work taking place across the local school community.

“Recognition of our Learning to Learn framework highlights the strength of our educational model, while the Symbol Award acknowledges the culture that enables our staff to do their best work every day. Both achievements are something our entire school community can celebrate.”
Dr Selina Samuels, an international education expert and author of the Learning to Learn Framework, noted that the framework is applicable across all curricula, built on robust practices, and informed by proven educational strategies.
“I think the real innovation of the framework is being able to deliver a consistently high quality of teaching and learning across multiple regions and campuses while also ensuring each student’s learning needs are met, giving all students the opportunity to be active and successful learners,” Dr Samuels said.
