The historic main street of Bruthen will host a unique spectacle next month when artist Eleanor Marguerite debuts her wearable art collection alongside a street parade on Sunday, October 18.
Marguerite creates one-off, artisanal headwear pieces, pairing each creation with its own individual work of poetry, prose or rhyme.
The special feature of the event will see horseback riders and models parade down the main street wearing Marguerite’s headwear creations before arriving at the Bruthen Village Makers Shop.
Shop owner Penny will deliver an introduction to the collection upon the parade’s arrival, opening a dedicated window display showcasing the bespoke pieces to spectators.
Local photographer Jessica Shepard will document the procession and exhibition, capturing images that Marguerite hopes will contribute to preserving the living history and character of the township.
The event is free to attend, with community members and visitors encouraged to gather along the main street to view the parade and window display.
