Swifts Creek has climbed off the bottom of the Omeo and District netball ladder after scoring a hard-fought victory over Buchan in round 10.
It was the Demons’ first win for the season after drawing with Bruthen earlier in the year.
Challenged in the final quarter, Swifts Creek rallied holding on to win by four goals in a match which was a terrific advertisement for High Country netball.
Halle Jackson, Lily McCole and Taylah-Jean Hardisty were instrumental for the victors, while Kate Edwards, Claudia Hodge and Lucy McGuinn all battled hard for the persistent Buchan.
Second placed Omeo Benambra were 18-goal winners over third ranked Lindenow South, virtually cementing a double chance for 2024.
Swan Reach went on its winning way, humbling Bruthen by 48 goals in a one-sided clash.
