Katherine Fraser Dance (KFD) studio is holding its annual showcase this Saturday and Sunday, starting at 2pm at the Forge Theatre.
The showcase will be split into two parts, with the first part being a snapshot of the dancers’ classwork, while the second part is a story about a girl named Alice who falls asleep and wakes in a garden of magical creatures.
The 85 dancers taking part in the show have been rehearsing for the past 20 weeks, and range between two to 16 years old.
Katherine said the students have been enjoying rehearsing for the showcase and bringing the story of Alice to life.
“Students really enjoy the concerts, they are more engaged when there is a story involved as they feel like they are a part of something bigger,” she said.
“What’s appealing about this production is the fact that it’s a fun and engaging story for the students. The children are loving being a part of it.”
