Eighteen members of Paynesville Probus Club took on the Melbourne experience recently.
Staying at the Grand Hotel evoked memories of a different era, not only because of the decor but the attention and assistance from hotel staff.
Involving themselves in everything from The Tina Turner Musical to shopping at Myer, as well as The Da Vinci Exhibition at the Lume and The State Library.
Of course gastronomical delights and the odd cocktail, certainly helped make the trip one to remember.
Not content with trying to see every possible thing in Melbourne, the group once again boarded the train and headed off for a day tour of Castlemaine where exploring and food held equal sway with the touring group.
Every day was rounded out with happy hour before heading out for dinner.
Of course not everything always goes to plan and the disruption of the Melbourne to Bairnsdale train caused a two-hour wait for buses at Traralgon.
However the group took the delay in its stride and everyone declared the trip was a resounding success.
