Newly-elected rear commodore of the Paynesville Motor Cruiser Club Geoff Smethurst was pleased with the attendance of more than 30 people at the club’s Christmas party at Sperm Whale Head last Saturday.
As well as a fundraising day with games and activities, Santa arrived by cruiser to wish everyone merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
Geoff said Saturday was the first on-water activity for the new committee and club members.
He is planning more on-water activities for members and their craft including a run to Refuge Cove early in the New Year.
Geoff is keen to see club membership on the rise and the committee to respond to suggestions by members to galvanise the future of the club.
The rear commodore said the club is keen for people with cruising craft to join the club and enjoy the ammenities, services and its environs in a responsible manner.
