Steve Bartlett has gone back to back in the Loch Sport Fishing Association (LSFA) Flathead Frenzy.
The event was well patronised, with a number of keen “Croc Hunters” catching and releasing some mighty “duskies”.
An interesting observation from this year’s event was that many of the bigger fish were caught from the shore in Loch Sport.
The boat guys went a bit further afield to fish in the shallows not easily accessible from land, but the results differed little.
All fish were caught on either hard bodied lures or soft plastics, as the word got around on what the big species were biting on.
Bartlett prevailed with a magnificent 87 centimetre specimen, with local youngster Tom Francis (79 centimetre) second, with Denis and Jai Heily (74.5 centimetre) placed third.
The much maligned NAFA Award was inherited by reigning club champion Lee Woods for his 16.5 centimetre catch.
The presentation function at Peli’s was well supported, with the next LSFA event being the “Meeting of Minds” dinner at Peli’s
on May 14th.
The night will feature the Victorian Fishing Authority chief executive officer, Travis Dowling and his senior team, the chief executive officer of Better Boating Victoria, Katherine Grech plus Nikki Bryant from Purple Patch Fishing who will discuss all things fishing and boating on the Gippsland Lakes.
