This week the Bairnsdale Joey Scouts received a donation from Johnnos Op Shop, helping to fund the costs for their alpine camp for the next three years.
“Thank you to Johnno’s Op Shop support for our Bairnsdale Joey Scouts with a huge donation of $2500, which will help fund towards our two night snow camp for the next three years,” a spokesperson said
Alpine activities are a great part of Scouting, but cost is a huge barrier to the snow. Donations and community support like this ensure all our Joey Scouts can access these activities.
Terry from Jonnos Op Shop attended last week and met with the Joeys, they got to say what activities they are looking forward to at the snow this year including “throwing snowballs at the leaders”, snowshoeing and making snowmen.
