The proudest man at the Bairnsdale City Oval last Saturday was Bairnsdale Football Netball Club president, Mick Mann.
The Redlegs pulled off the perfect day, securing victory in crucial senior football and netball matches, while attracting a huge crowd in poor weather conditions on the way to raising more than $100,000 in the annual MND fundraiser.
“It’s a great result for the club, the netball girls have now won three games in a row, and that’s probably our best win in three years under Logan Austin,” Mann said.
The senior football result sees the Redlegs back in the top five.
“It was an eight-point game for us, we really couldn’t afford to lose, we played magnificently in the wet conditions, showcasing the major football competition to a huge East Gippsland audience,” Mann said.
Mann was also a proud parent with son Charlie coming in for his first senior game of the season and certainly not looking out of place.
The popular Mann is in his second year as president and has impressed all at club and league level with his club management.
