Local Spartan athletes Trent Howell, Mick Gilhooley and Dave Pitt raced the iconic Gold Coast Spartan last weekend.
Day one saw two races held – the sprint and the super.
The super event is held over 10 kilometres and contains 25 obstacles, while the sprint is 6.5 kilometre and sees the athletes challenged by 20 obstacles.
Howell had a great result in the sprint event finishing second overall in his age group.
Day two was the toughest day as the spartans do battle with the best, 21.5 kilometres of action packed activity with 30 difficult obstacles.
Howell was again impressive finishing fourth in his division, while Gilhooley finished a respectable seventh, both athletes hampered by persistent injuries.
Pitt, a relative newcomer to sport, posted some good results over the weekend with a podium finish not far away.
Howell and Gilhooley are currently contemplating a title at the OCR World Championships at Mammoth Mountain in California in November.
