Bairnsdale Croquet Club hosted a successful singles croquet tournament last weekend.
With the region putting on some spectacular weather, the club was able to show some wonderful hospitality to the 24 players who competed in three divisions.
Entries included club members from Monash, Wonthaggi, Sale, Lakes Entrance, Drouin, Williamstown, Morwell, Rosebud Village Glen, joining three local members filling in for late pull outs.
Division one was won by Richard Parks (Williamstown), who won all seven of his round robin matches, with runner-up, Penny Morrison-McGill’s (Morwell) only defeat at the hands of Parks.
In division two, Kevin Young (Morwell) with six wins was an easier winner over Mary Cornwall (Warragul) who put together four victories.
While in division three, Bob Moir (Rosebud) with five wins, came out on top of Jill Budge (Monash), who won four matches.
The club has planned three tournaments for 2025 including level play doubles, singles championships and a 19-hoop event.
